Card Currency conversion rates for non-euro transactions within the European Economic Area (EEA)
The European Cross-Border Payments Regulation -518/2019 (CBPR2), requires financial institutions to provide the cardholder, for transactions within the European Union in non-euro currencies, the foreign exchange percentage mark-up over the ECB rate, including the Handling fee[1] of the Bank. Based on this, Eurobank Cyprus card holders will receive an SMS alert for each card transaction completed within EU in a non-euro currency that will include the required information regarding the foreign exchange percentage mark-up over the ECB rate together with other relevant transaction details.
