Arrears Management

Eurobank Cyprus Ltd (“the Bank”) applies the principles of the Code of Conduct on the Handling of Borrowers in Financial Difficulties of 2015 (hereinafter “the Code"), Appendix 2 of the Directive on Arrears Management of 2015which was issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus pursuant to the provisions of Section 41 of the Business of Credit Institutions Law of 1997 to 2015 (hereinafter “the Directive”) to all borrowers and, where relevant, their guarantors, which for the purpose of this Directive include other third party security providers, across all categories of credit facilities.

It is clarified that the Code applies only to the following persons:

(a) Natural persons with total balances of credit facilities (including credit facilities of their connected persons) up to one million euro (€1.000.000). The said scope of application includes guarantors of the borrower and third parties (natural persons) who provided securities to the Bank.

(b) Micro and small enterprises as defined in the European Commission Recommendation of 6 May 2003 concerning the definition of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (2003/361/EC) with total balances of credit facilities (including credit facilities of their connected persons) up to one million euro (€1.000.000).

The following persons do not fall within the scope of application of the Code:

(i) persons for which an application for bankruptcy was filed by another creditor;

(ii) persons for which a receiver or administrator was appointed by another creditor; and

(iii) persons for which a dissolution order was issued.

The Bank, in the context of the Directive and in line with the provisions of the Code, may examine the possible restructuring of the facilities of its customers – borrowers who are facing financial difficulties aiming to the restoration of the ability of the customers - borrowers to meet their credit obligations.

Consequently, customers – borrowers who are facing financial difficulties and who wish to proceed to the restructuring of their facilities, may contact the Responsible Officer of their account(s) for the arrangement of a meeting and the determination of the required data/information needed by the Bank for the review of their request.
